What are the side effects of ED treatments?

How does the medication work?

Medications to treat ED work by widening blood vessels, increasing blood flow to the penis when stimulated. This increases your chance of achieving and maintaining a full erection.

What are the common side effects?

Since the medication also causes blood flow to the rest of the body, you may experience common side effects like:

  • 💆🏼‍♀️ Headaches
  • 💧Nasal congestion
  • ⬅️ Back or muscle aches
  • ❤️‍🔥 Facial flushing
  • 🤢 Stomach discomfort

What can I do to reduce the chance of side effects?

These side effects are usually mild and subside as the medication wears off, but can be reduced & managed at home using tips that can be found in your practitioner letter or the “Help” section on your patient profile.

**Please note that medications to treat ED will only help you maintain an erection when there is sexual stimulation. It will not cause erections if there is no sexual stimulation.**
